The black swan found in many lakes around New Zealand.  It's fascinating to watch the gracefulness of two birds in their mating ritual, or as they glide smoothly across the weaters. However they can be equally aggressive in their behaviour and turn on other birds with lightening speed.

They are very protective and doting parents to their young.
