Newbies

We are rookie campervanners and slowly getting used to handling Moti, and all that goes with ‘life on the road’.

So far, so good and we’re gaining our confidence. From the basics such as making sure we are well stocked with food to the more mundane domestic side of vanning like emptying the tanks (but I leave that to Chris!). Knowing that we’ve mastered these early on, will allow us to enjoy the freedom that Moti will bring.

Our first trip away was to Raglan in the Waikato and it was beautiful. It was pretty special pulling into Manu Bay, opening the rear doors, sitting back and enjoying a good coffee with a view to die for!

We stayed at the Raglan Holiday Park which was really our first night ‘camping’ since both of us went camping with our parents. The facilities at the camp were excellent with everything being well maintained, clean and tidy. Mind you camping in Moti, is a lot more luxurious than our style of camping some 50 years ago!

With our Baby Q Weber BBQ on board, cooking an evening meal was quite easy especially being able to sit close by and enjoy the evening sunset, and a glass of wine.

We’re busy planing our next mini adventure and think we’ll head north.

Clouds coloured by a beautiful sunset filled the Raglan sky.
Sunset reflections made interesting patterns on Raglan’s estuary.
